Dear Mr Duff
Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 - Release of Information
Subject: Road Repairs
Thank you for your request for information which has been dealt with under the terms of the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004. Your request for information has been considered and the information is enclosed.
You asked the following;
Please could you detail the total cost of road repairs and maintenance at Moat Street, Edinburgh since 1st January 2013?
Our response;
Moat Street was resurfaced in June/July 2013 using the Local Roads Thin Overlay process. This is a process that is used on roads that have low traffic flow, such as residential roads. It is not suitable to be used on main carriageways with a heavy flow of traffic. We allocate a percentage of the carriageway budget each year for the Local Roads Thin Overlay process. The cost for these works was £22,733.39.
There have been a small number temporary repairs carried out in Moat Street since the 1 January 2013 but we cannot calculate the costs for these as they were carried out by a daily squad, as part of a temporary repair programme throughout the South-West area. A daily rate is charged rather than a cost per repair, hence none of these temporary repair costs have been allocated to Moat Street.
To promote transparency and accountability, please note it is the Council’s policy to publish all request details and responses made under freedom of information legislation. This information will be made available through the Council’s website and will not include your personal details.
