Dear Certification Office,
On October 3rd a phone call was made by DWP which resulted in a serious data breach.
I have offered a copy of the telephone recording to DWP several times in order for them to clearly hear the data breach.
DWP have taken from October (Start of complaint) until February to tell me that my complaint is not upheld, that they can not listen to a copy of my telephone recording because of trade union consultation.
My FOI request to yourselves is can you please supply me with any legislation or policies in which DWP and the trade union relies on in order to not accept my evidence of the complaint.
Dear Peter Powell,
Thank you for your email of 20 February 2018.
The Certification Officer is responsible for certain statutory functions relating to trade unions and employers’ associations.
I note from your email that your query is regarding a data breach by DWP, I am sorry to hear about this. However, your query does not relate to any of the functions of the Certification Office please see our website https://www.gov.uk/government/organisati.... In particular the Certification Officer has no functions relating to data protection or any agreements relating to this that may be made between trade unions and employers.
For the above reason I am afraid we are unable to help you regarding this matter as we do not hold any information of the sort you request.
Should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me on my details below.
