Results of the staff survey completed in 2010

The request was successful.

Dear NHS Direct NHS Trust,

I understand that a staff survey was carried out in the financial year 2010. Can you please give a summary of the results of the staff survey to the public. This would include statistics in relation to job satisfaction of members of staff who completed this survey.

Yours faithfully,

M.P. Short

You may know that NHS Directs board meeting papers are also available to you on the internet, very entertaining reading headed 'Great Place to Work'.

Thanks John for that.

Thank you for your request for information about NHS Direct. Your

In some circumstances a fee may be payable and if that is the case, I
will let you know. A fees notice will be issued to you, and you will be
required to pay before we will proceed to deal with your request.

If you have any queries, please contact me. Please remember to quote the

Dear Paul,

Thank you for your message. I don't know the ins and outs of the Freedom of Information Act but I am most concerned about your response. The problem stands that NHS Direct conducted a staff survey in 2010 and have not published the results to staff. Surely, it only just and fair that staff can look at this. I don't see why I should have to pay to get the results. However, if this is the case then I will start a collection with colleagues to pay for this.

I will be e-mailing Nick Chapman myself to ask him why the results have not been made available to staff members. Surely the Value Ambassadors team he has set up should be looking at this as well, as the ethos behind the team is valuing people within the organisation.

I realise that the responsibility of the staff survey being published does not rest with you but as your title indicates, you are the Corporate Records manager and surely you must have some say in the matter.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Michael Short

Freedom Of Information, NHS Direct NHS Trust

Dear Michael,

The response sent to you is a standard acknowledgment sent in response to
all requests made under the Freedom of Information Act. You'll note it
says that in "some" circumstances a fee may be payable. This is included
to make all requesters aware that there are financial limits imposed by
the Act in terms of what is reasonable in terms of the cost in time and
money required to respond to a request. It is worth noting that, to date,
NHS Direct has never actually issued a fees notice, however because it is
always a possibility it is mentioned within the acknowledgment just so
people are aware.

Our acknowledgment should in no way be seen as a refusal. Your request is
still being processed and we will issue a formal response in line with the
timescales laid down within the Act. Our deadline for responding is August
23^rd, and I will respond to you no later than then.

If you have any further queries please ask.

Regards

Dear Paul,

Thank you so much for your response. I appreciate you sending a response so quickly.

I will await your ultimate response before getting in touch with Nick Chapman. I did not realise that it was a standard e-mail and now understand the situation.

Yours faithfully,
