Dear Carl Cross

Freedom of Information Act 2000 – Ref: 1457/1920

Thank you for your correspondence received on 03 October 2019. In response
to your request I can now provide the following information.

1) Do you use a Resource Allocation System (RAS) to determine individual’s
funding for adult social care?

Yes

2) If you don’t use a RAS do you use an alternative system? What is that
system? Please provide any policies or guidelines that describe this
system.

3) Please provide any policies, guidelines or any documents which describe
the process for making funding decisions based on the RAS or alternative
system.

The RAS is determined from the Care Act so there are no specific
policies.

4) For either a RAS or alternative system have you had to adapt the
system/process for different client groups, scenarios/circumstances or for
any other reason? Please provide any policies or guidelines which describe
these adaptations.

The RAS has been adapted to reflect the differing costs of care for client
groups but this is done automatically in the system.  There is no policy
as the amendments are done automatically.

If you have any queries or concerns please contact me in the first
instance.

However, if you are unhappy with the way your request for information has
been handled, you can submit a complaint to
