Dear Information Access,

As this information was originally requested on 18th June, I have a feeling the "20 working days as governed by the Act," already applies. Not to be taken from 15th July.
Please clarify.

Yours sincerely,

D. Speers

Information Access, Care Quality Commission

Dear Ms Speers,

Thank you for your email dated 18th July regarding your most recent request.

Your original request dated 18th of June was for:

"From April 2010 to current date, How many (and what percentage is this of homes on CQC register?) Residential Care Homes/hospital for vulnerable adults have the Care Quality Commission : a) Visited? b) Issued improvement notices to? c) Where were these care homes located?"

My colleague responded to your request on the 14th of July and provided you with the answers to your questions:

1. 6,147 locations have been the subject of a visit since April 2010.

2. This is 19% of all currently active locations.

3. 1,340 of these 6,147 have non routine compliance conditions attached to their registration as at 5th July 2011.

4. The regional breakdown for the homes visited is outlined in the attached document.

Under the duty to advise and assist she also informed you that we could provide you with a further breakdown according to our registration characteristics upon request. This was further to your original request and must be treated as a new information request with a new deadline. I am sorry if this was not entirely clear in my colleagues original response to you.

As this is a new information request you can therefore expect a response by close of business 11 August 2011 respectively. In certain circumstances the Care Quality Commission may be unable to provide the information within statutory timescale. We will then inform you of the revised timescale prior to the deadline.

Kind regards
