Dear Ms Njatha,

We acknowledge receipt of your Freedom of Information Request received
19/07/2019:

April 2018. For each seizure indicate the date and amount.

2.List of all seizures between 01 January 2018 – 31 March 2018. For each
seizure indicate;

b) Amount

c) Type as specified in POCA 2002 section 289 (6)

d) Grounds stated by the officer for suspecting that the cash is either

e) If the money was returned to the owner or forfeited and the reason for

Having contacted the department responsible for providing this
information, they have the following queries:-

1. Are we talking about undeclared cash brought into or taken out of the
country at the ports. i.e amounts over €10,000 ( I think that’s the
figure) have to be declared.

2. Does part two relate only to seizures of undeclared cash and not any
cash seizure.

After receiving your reply, your request will then be considered. As
defined under the Act in 20 working days from this date you will receive
the information, subject to the provisions of that Act. However, if the
requested information has not been received by 06/08/2019 I will assume
you will no longer wish to proceed with this request and it will be
treated as withdrawn and subsequently closed.

Yours sincerely
