Dear FOI,
Could you please send me a list of the documents that you have, rather than the full correspondence which you have said is too many and would take too much time to go through so that I can then request a reduced list of the appropriately redacted documents

Dear Mr Harris
I am writing to you in reply to your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
request to Nottinghamshire County Council for a list of documents relating
to works at Halloughton Road, Southwell.
I can confirm that the Council may hold some of this information. However
it is not held in a format that allows it to be readily extracted or
produced in a list format. To do so would require the searching and
reading of hundreds of pieces of correspondence.
You may be aware that there is a statutory limit to the amount of time
authorities are required to spend in order to comply with a request. This
is defined in the Appropriate Limit and Fees Regulations as 18 hours.
We estimate that it will take one officer in excess of this limit to
locate and retrieve the information you have requested. Therefore in
accordance with Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act we will not
be able to provide this information.
If you have any queries or concerns then please contact me. Please
remember to quote the reference number above in any future communications.
If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your
request and wish to make a complaint or request a review of our decision,
you should write to the Team Manager, Complaints and Information Team,

Dear John,
I am frustrated by not having access to the documents that relate to this specific inquiry, as this is a matter of significant public interest in this town. Is it possible to have access to a list of material between Jan 2 2018 and Jan 1 2021 that can be identified within the time limit that you cite?
Yours sincerely,
Peter Harris
