Dear A.G. Emmanuel
RE: 24617 - Service Provisions
I am writing in response to your request dated 14/07/2021. This has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
May I first of all apologise for the delay in responding to your request.
You asked for the following information and the Council’s response to your specific questions is set out below:
a) Laundry equipment supply, maintenance and install.
KNH did have a contract with Girbau from whom we purchased 2 commercial grade washers and 2 dryers in 2015-2016. These were not purchased by Procurement but were chosen on a 3 quotes basis by others. We subsequently negotiated a service and maintenance contract with Girbau that expired in 2020. The machines are located at Bishops Court. KNH did from time to time purchased domestic washers and dryers from a local dealer and lately from Northern Commercials. These were replacements for damaged units at sheltered accommodation. Some time ago KNH Procurement did plan to carry out a full exercise to buy or lease commercial machines for all of our locations including the machines at Bishops Court but we are not clear how far if this has progressed. This exercise will be picked up again in September and we will be looking at the ESPO or another similar Framework to deliver this. We do not have details on year on year spend for this category.
b) Fire equipment supply, maintenance and install and provision of Fire Risk Assessments / consultancy.
Please responses below.
c) HVAC equipment supply, maintenance and install.
Please see responses below.

Advice and Assistance : Direct Marketing
If you are a company that intends to use the names and contact details of council officers (or other officers) provided in this response for direct marketing, you need to be registered with the Information Commissioner to process personal data for this purpose. You must also check that the individual (whom you wish to contact for direct marketing purposes) is not registered with one of the Preference Services to prevent Direct Marketing. If they are you must adhere to this preference. You must also ensure you comply with the Privacy Electronic and Communications Regulations (PECR). For more information follow this Link www.ico.org.uk
For the avoidance of doubt the provision of council (and other) officer names and contact details under FOI does not give consent to receive direct marketing via any media and expressly does not constitute a ‘soft opt-in’ under PECR.
If you are not content with the handling of your request, you have the right to ask for an internal review. Requests for internal reviews should be submitted within 2 months of the date of receipt of the response to your original request and should be addressed to the Monitoring Officer, 1st Floor, Civic Centre 3, Market Street, Huddersfield HD1 2EY. Alternatively, you can send an email to: [email address].
Please remember to quote the reference number above in any future communications.
