Reports of knives in schools - 2018/19

I am writing to request the following under the Freedom of Information Act:

The number of reports of the “offence of having article with blade or point on school premises” where the suspect was under 18.

Please provide figures for the 2018/19 academic year (1 September to 31 July), broken down by age of suspect and local authority area.

Thank you for your request for information dated 2^nd August 2019
concerning knife offences at schools.

 

Dyfed-Powys Police acknowledge receipt of your request which is being
processed under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 however, prior to
processing the request please would you clarify whether ‘reports’ is
referring to recorded crimes?

 

After receiving the clarification, your request will then be considered and you
will receive a response within the statutory timescale of 20 working days as
defined by the Freedom of Information Act 2000, subject to the information not
being exempt or containing a reference to a third party. If we do not receive
clarification from you within 40 working days, then your request will be closed.

 

There may be a fee payable for the retrieval, collation and provision of the
information you request. If this is the case you will be informed and the 20
working day timescale will be suspended until we receive payment from you. If
you chose not to make a payment then your request will remain unanswered.

I write in connection with your request for information dated and received on 2nd August 2019 (clarified on 08/08/19) regarding Knife offences in schools.

This request is being handled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

It is with regret that I have to inform you that the 20 working day deadline (02/09/2019) under section 10 of The Freedom of Information Act in respect of this request has not been met, due to difficulties in retrieving and collating the relevant requested information or delays in the FOI process.

On behalf of Dyfed-Powys Police I would like to apologise for not complying with this legal requirement in respect of this matter as well as for any inconvenience this may have caused.
