Dear West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust,

Thank you for taking the time to respond to this freedom of information request.

I am keen to know if you can help me with some statistics for your elderly patients.

I would like to know if you can provide me with an average figure, as a percentage, of your emergency face-to-face patients (that is, those that call 999/111 and receive an emergency ambulance response) that are over the age of 75.

I appreciate that this may be difficult to gauge as calls are different each year, but I would be happy with either a figure for a 12 month period, or as an extended figure over a set period of time, for example five years.

This figure does not have to be exact, as I am aware some patients do not stipulate their age when calling 999, and upon arrival of the crew the age may be different, but as a rough estimation as a percentage of logged 999 calls to yourselves, this would help my work greatly into elderly care.

I am grateful to you for facilitating this request.

Yours faithfully,

NHSFreedom

Good afternoon

Please see the attached response to your recent request for information under the Freedom of Information Act.

We have also attached a quick survey and we were wondering if we could spare a few moments of your time to complete and return to either myself, or the Head of Governance and Risk [email address] to help us improve the service we currently provide.

Kind Regards
