Dear Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government,

I have recently learnt of this project, 'Register Our Marriage campaign' and its public funding from your department.

I would be grateful to understand more about how the funds were allocated to this project, by whom and what the expected outcomes are. In particular, my request should include access to all the relevant documents in the decision making process and furthermore, information regarding what other such projects were considered, should be included.

If I may clarify my request, please feel free to contact me.

Yours faithfully,

Dr Vishal Vora

Dear Despatch Box,

Thanks for this information. My request would like to know 'why' this project was chosen to be funded.

You wrote, "The decision to work with ROM to deliver the Government’s aim of raising awareness was reached following research carried out by officials at MHCLG."

I would like to know what 'research' was carried out by the officials at MHCLG. I hope this information can be provided within this request as my original FOI sought access to all the relevant documents, in the decision making process.

Finally you have not responded to my question about 'what other such groups were considered'. If no other groups were considered, I'd appreciate a concise answer confirming as such.

Yours sincerely,

Dr Vishal Vora

Dear FoI Requests,

Further to your last message dated 17 June, I am yet to receive a response. Given I sought this information in my original request, I would appreciate the answer coming via this public platform.

Kindly advise when I can expect a reply.

Yours sincerely,

Dr Vishal Vora

Dear Dr Vora,

The decision to work with ROM to deliver the Government's aim of raising
awareness was reached following research carried out by officials at
MHCLG.

Officials sought to identify whether any other groups and organisations
have recently been active in seeking to raise awareness of the
consequences of non-registration of religious marriages through activity
such as roadshows and faith leader training.  It was concluded that ROM
are the only active campaign currently operating in this space and to have
secured a high profile, both nationally and in communities, as well as
being likely to be able to demonstrate the capacity required to lead a
campaign on the scale Government wishes to support.

We would like to apologise for the lack of response to your query.  This
was an administrative oversight and procedures have been put in place to
ensure this situation does not happen again.

Yours sincerely
