Roedd y cais yn rhannol lwyddiannus.

Dear Glasgow Caledonian University,

As per my other requests around the topic of Lecturers with neurodiversity in the Glasgow School for Business & Society, I would like to know more about the composition of recruitment panels.

In my previous request, I asked: how many Lecturers were appointed to open-ended posts in the Department for Business & Society in the years 2015-2019? Please repeat your answer to that question here, then answer:

1. At the interview process for all Lecturers who were appointed to open-ended posts in the Glasgow School for Business & Society (GSBS) in the years 2015-2019, how many were already known by at least one member of the recruitment panel?

2. Or, at the interview process for all Lecturers who were appointed to open-ended posts in the Glasgow School for Business & Society in the years 2015-2019, how many were already employed by GCU?

3. At the interview process for all Lecturers who were appointed to open-ended posts in the Department for Business & Society in the years 2015-2019, how many were previous or then-current PhD students at GCU?

4. For all Lecturers who were appointed to open-ended posts in the Department for Business & Society in the years 2015-2019, how many had to participate in a presentation followed by an interview process to obtain their open-ended post?

5. Please state how many people form a typical recruitment panel at the GSBS?

6. How many recruitment panels were formed, for interviews of permanent lectureships in the GSBS in the years 2015-2019? Of these, how many panels included a member who is autistic?

7. How many individuals acted as panel members for interviews of permanent lectureships in the GSBS in the years 2015-2019? Of these, how many panels included a member who is autistic?

8. How many Lectureships were created or extended to open-ended posts in the Glasgow School for Business & Society (GSBS) in the years 2015-2019 by some other recruitment process, such as a Resourcing Committee?

9. How many of these Resourcing Committees/'Shaping 20/20" Boards (and such like) have approved new open-ended Lectureships in the GSBS in the years 2015-2019?

10. Of these Resourcing Committees/'Shaping 20/20" Boards (and such like) that have approved new open-ended Lectureships in the GSBS in the years 2015-2019, how many of these groups have included a member who is autistic?

I would also be grateful for the same information in respect or fixed term lecturers and casual workers, if possible.

Many thanks.

Yours faithfully,

Wendy Hesketh

Dear Jean,

Thanks for your message, seeking clarification from me about point 8 in my original request email. I am writing now to provide clarification. To remind you, question number 8 in my previous message asked:

'How many Lectureships were created or extended to open-ended posts in the Glasgow School for Business & Society (GSBS) in the years 2015-2019 by some other recruitment process, such as a Resourcing Committee? '

GCU's GSBS' "usual recruitment process" is an externally advertised vacancy. I believe GCU currently use 'www.myjobscotland.gov.uk' and that candidates apply to posts through that site? "Some other recruitment process" means that the open-ended lectureship was NOT externally advertised and applied for via the myjobscotland website. It may be, for example, that a resourcing board, such as the 'Shaping 20/20' board at GCU decides to make a fixed term post permanent (open-ended) without advertising the open-ended post.

I hope that this is clearer now and that you can remove the hold you have placed on this request?

Many thanks again.

Yours sincerely,

Wendy Hesketh
