Data Protection Officer,

Dear Miss Khan,

Thank you for your email below. If I may begin with an apology for the delayed response to your enquiry - the Authority acknowledges the response below has missed the statutory response timescale and hopes this has not been too inconvenient.

Your request has been followed up by Combined Authority colleagues and their response is as follows -

1. How many British Muslim employees have you recruited? Please provide figures for every year since 2010.

By the Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, North Tyneside and Northumberland Combined Authority (Establishment and Functions) Order 2018, the boundaries of NECA were changed on 2 November 2018. As a result of these governance changes the boundaries of NECA now cover the Local Authorities of Durham, Gateshead, South Tyneside and Sunderland, and only holds NECA employee data from the date of the change.

NECA currently has 25 Employees, none have whom have informed the Authority that they are British Muslim. Accordingly, the Combined authority does not hold information that would answer your question.

2. What is the average length of service?

N/A

3. How many British Muslims have you employed in communications/media roles since 2010?

N/A

I trust this is satisfactory. If you remain unhappy with the Combined Authority's response above it can be reviewed as per your request below. Please let us know if you wish to pursue this.

Yours sincerely,

Deputy Data Protection Officer
Corporate Services
Sunderland City Council - issued on behalf of the North East Combined Authority.
