Dear City of London Corporation,

Please supply a list of Tenants Associations of leaseholders which you recognise under Section 29 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, with details of any online presence and contact details you have for each.

Yours faithfully,

Peter Wright

COL-EB-InformationOfficer, City of London Corporation

Dear Mr Wright,

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 (FOIA) – REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

The City of London (CoL) acknowledges receipt of your request for
information of 24 July 2018.

Public authorities are required to respond to requests within the
statutory timescale of 20 working days beginning from the first working
day after they receive a request. The Act does not always require public
authorities to disclose the information which they hold.

The FOIA applies to the CoL as a local authority, police authority and
port health authority. The CoL is the local and police authority for the
“Square Mile”, ie the historic City of London, and not for London as a
whole. Please see the following page containing a link to a map (‘Explore
the City’), which shows the local authority area covered by the CoL:

The CoL does have some functions, including Port Health Authority
functions, which extend beyond the City boundary. For further information
please see: [2]www.cityoflondon.gov.uk.

Yours sincerely,

Dear Mr Wright,

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 (FOIA) - REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

Following your request for information of 24 July 2018 and our
acknowledgement of the same date, the City of London (CoL) responds as
follows.

Please see attached above list of Tenants Associations of Leaseholders for
the Barbican Estate which is recognised under Section 29 of the Landlord
and Tenant Act 1985. The CoL only has such Associations for this prviate
Estate.  With regard to releasing personal details of the individual
members, the CoL does not consider it is appropriate to comment on the
processing of information in relation to other individuals, especially
under the FOIA. Under the FOIA, a public authority has to consider a
disclosure as a disclosure to the public as a whole. The CoL therefore
applies the section 40(2) exemption, ‘personal information’, to the
information. The exemption is not subject to the public interest test.

For additional information, please see attached link below to the CoL
Barbican Estate website, which we hope will be of some help to you.
