R.E B4300 Street Works

The request was successful.

Christopher Rees

Dear Carmarthenshire Council

My request is directed to the Highways Section which is as follows.

I refer you to a section of the B4300, this being at the junction of the B4310, Nantgaredig turning: There are 'temporary' traffic signals sited at this location, which appear to have been in place for some time, which (it appears) are as a result of remedial work on a water main.

The website 'One.Network' advised an end dated of 31st March 2021: This, it transpires, has not been the case, in light of this, would you advise what is the current status of the site in question, in terms of the work carried out to date, and an envisaged end/completion date.

I appreciate your assistance, and look forward to your reply.

Yours faithfully

Christopher Rees

Dear Mr. Rees

I refer to your request for information, which was received on 7th May, 2021 and has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Please accept my sincere apologies for the delay in providing you with a response.

The specific information you requested was contained in your email below.

In response:

The works on the culvert at the junction of the B4310 and B4300 commenced on the 4/2/21 under two way lights which were registered with our Street works section until 31/3/21. To accommodate the watermain diversion a set of 3 way lights were installed on the 15/2/21 and these remained in operation while undertaking the culvert works until w/c 15/5/21. These lights unfortunately due to a mix up were not registered with our Street works section and as such would not show up on one.network.
The work was completed on the 28/5/21 under two way temporary lights which were registered with our street works section.
There was a delay of 3 weeks to the construction programme due to the Welsh Water diversion works.

Yours sincerely
