R (on the application of Steinfeld and Keiden) v Secretary of State for the International Development
Dear Department for International Development,
The May 2018 Command Paper 'The Future Operation of Civil Partnership: Gathering Further Information', concluded that:
"At the earliest, we would anticipate being able to consult on the future operation of civil partnerships in 2020."
Since then, a declaration of incompatibility was made by the Supreme Court in R (on the application of Steinfeld and Keiden) v Secretary of State for the International Development.
I would like to know whether the position of the Department for International Development has changed on this matter since the above Supreme Court judgment of 27/06/2018.
Does the earliest date you anticipate being able to consult on the future operation of civil partnerships remain as 2020?
Please treat this as a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Yours faithfully,
Jonathan Deans
