Questions about Account Login

The request was successful.

Dear The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service,

I wonder what happens next if someone tries to log into my UCAS? One of my classmates told me that he got my ID and email, so he tried to reset my password, but I didn't receive an email for that (email about resetting the password, I noticed that UCAS would send two relevant emails).
Will this affect my application? I am now helpless.

Yours faithfully,

Linlin

Dear Linlin

Thank you for your email.

Please be assured that someone knowing your PID and email address will not allow them access to your UCAS account or application. They would also need to have access to your email account or know your UCAS password. There are a number of reasons why a password reset doesn't work the first time, but without knowing your personal details, I can't give a definitive answer in your case.

If you are concerned about access to your account I would recommend you either call our Customer Experience Centre (UK number 0371 468 0 468, International number +44 330 3330 230) or email me directly (FOI[at]ucas.ac.uk) using your personal email address. In both incidences you will be asked to provide some personal information in order to identify you and pass our security checks. Due to the public nature of this website, please do not reply to this email with any personal information.

I hope that helps, but do get in touch directly if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,
Jessica

Dear FOI,

Does the fact that I didn't receive an email mean that my password has not been reset? Is my UCAS not affected and is it the same as before?

Thank you very much for your reply, I will protect my personal information.

Yours sincerely,

Linlin

Dear Linlin

Yes, your password would only be reset if someone has followed the instructions within the reset email. If you haven't received the reset email, then your password will not have been changed. You can always double check this by trying to log into your account.

However, if you're still concerned, you can request an email to reset your password yourself.

Kind regards,
Jessica
