Putting in, and getting out

Cabinet Office did not have the information requested.

Dear Cabinet Office,

I have just seen this post https://plus.google.com/1017520405057562... by the Prime Minister. Part of it reads:

"We believe if you have put in, you should get out.

And if you have worked hard during your life, saved, paid your taxes, and done the right thing - you deserve security when you retire.

That's why we'll continue to increase the State Pension through the Triple Lock, so it rises every year at either the rate of earnings, prices, or 2.5 per cent - whichever is highest."

I note that the Prime Minister does not place any conditions on this statement.

Could you please provide me with all the information that you hold that justifies this statement in regard to the State Pensions received by pensioners who live in Australia.

If you do not hold this information, could you provide me with all the information that you hold showing that pensioners who live in Australia did not "put in" and so should not "get out" or be secure when they retire.

Yours faithfully,

Paul Swain
