30 November 2018

Dear Mr Roberts,

Thank you for your request of 14 November 2018 in which you asked for the
following information:

Subject: Freedom of Information request - Public Rights of Way with
Traffic Regulation Orders

Dear Oxfordshire County Council,

Can you please advise if there are any public rights of ways (byways) that
have Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) on them preventing vehicular access.

If yes can you please provide details, namely

The identifier for the public right of way.

If the TRO is permanent, seasonal or temporary.

if temporary or seasonal, details for the dates when they are open and
closed Any other details that might be relevant to vehicular users.

The Byways Open to all Traffic [BOAT’s] network in the county is very
small, only 48 miles, [78km] which represents just 1.8% of the total
network of 2600 miles.

There are currently no BOATs subject to TROs either permanent, seasonal or
temporary on the network in Oxfordshire.

However, there are the following orders cover Restricted Byways forming
part of the Ridgeway National Trail through the county.  These orders
pre-date NERC hence the references to CRB which are no longer used. They
remain in force and are the only such orders currently effective in
Oxfordshire.

Please find attached (seasonal) “Prohibition of Driving” orders documents
titled, ‘RidgewaySwansWayEwelmeLewkno EastOR.pdf’ and
‘RidgewayAshburytoEastHendredWestOR.pdf’.

“Restricted Period” means the period from 1 October of any and every year
to 30 April of the following year, inclusive of both dates.”
