Dear Paul,

Thank you for your request for information under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000.

Please see The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust response below:

Q1-Q3

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust has funded 9 funerals
between the years of 2007 to 2010. This consisted of 4 females and 5
males, all within the age range of 85 and younger.

Q4

1

Q5&Q6

There is no central record specifically for the costs of funerals of this
type; however the typical cost of a funeral of this type is between £600
- £800. Therefore we estimate the funerals above have cost the Trust up
to £7200.

Q7

This would typically include cremation or burial with a vicar, organist
and services of a funeral director and notice in the local paper.

Q8

We can confirm the Trust works with local authorities to arrange funerals
of this nature. For example, this may include assistance with arranging
the funeral, tracing next of kin or identifying funding for the funeral

Please find attached a briefing which explains your rights to request a
review by the Trust or to complain to the Information Commissioner's
Office if you are not satisfied with the response from the Trust.  It
also outlines the Trust's policy on the Reuse of Public Sector Information
which should be applied in the reuse of any information provided by the
Trust in response to your request or otherwise obtained under the Freedom
