Roedd y cais yn llwyddiannus.

Dear Bury Metropolitan Borough Council,

I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 regarding Burrswood Care Home .

1 Please disclose the total amount of public funding that Bury Council and the NHS have provided to Burrswood Care Home in the last financial year?

2 What oversight mechanisms are in place to ensure that public funding allocated to care homes in Bury is used appropriately?

Public Interest Statements

Transparency in Public Spending: Understanding how public funds are allocated and spent on care homes is crucial for ensuring transparency. The public has a right to know how their tax money is being used, particularly when it concerns the welfare of vulnerable individuals.

Accountability: Disclosure of this information would hold Bury Council accountable for its role in funding and overseeing care homes. This is especially important given the recent CQC findings about the poor conditions at Burrswood Care Home.

Quality of Care: The well-being of residents in care homes is a matter of public interest. Knowing the amount of funding and the oversight mechanisms can provide insights into whether adequate resources are being allocated to ensure high-quality care.

Informed Public Debate: The state of care homes is a significant topic of public concern, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The requested information would contribute to a more informed public debate about the effectiveness of local and national policies in ensuring the well-being of care home residents.

I look forward to your prompt response within 20 working days, as stipulated by the Freedom of Information Act.

Yours faithfully,

Amanda Hart
