Dear Sir or Madam,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Avon & Somerset Constabulary's handling of my FOI request 'prostitution'.

An extension was made to the request on March 27 which has now passed the statutory 10-day extension time limit.

You have broken the law by not responding to my request within the time limit set out in the Freedom of Information Act.

I will be contacting the Information commissioner with a formal complaint if I do not receive a reply and explanation from you promptly.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address:

Dear Mr Dewsbury

Thank you for your email. I am writing to inform you that Avon and
Somerset Constabulary have legitimate reason to extend the statutory
deadline for response to your request. Disclosure of the requested
information engages one or more exemption under the Freedom of Information
Act 2000, and as such requires the consideration of the application of

In relation to your comments concerning the 'statutory 10-day extension
time limit', ACPO policy states that a Freedom of Information Request can
be extended up to a maximum of 60 days if a force is considering a public
interest test in relation to a qualified exemption(s). Avon and Somerset
Constabulary are not aware of the 10 day limit to which you refer to.

Therefore, as previously stated, we will endeavour to provide you with a
response by 27th April 2009.

Yours sincerely

Dear Freedom of Information Officer,

I would like to omit question 2 from my original request.

It refers to the names of streets kerb crawlers have been arrested on.

This is the part of the request that requires the consideration of the application of harm and public interest tests.

The other information should be readily available and therefor released promptly now that this part of the request is excluded.

Yours sincerely,

R Dewsbury

Somerset Constabulary and should not be used for comparison purposes with
any other response you receive.
