proposed & existing UK MPAs & MCZs, and the involvement in these by Pew for the purpose of commerce
Dear Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs,
I would like to see all documents pertaining to the involvement of Pew - the charitable foundation established from the American Sunoco Oil company - in the proposed UK MPAs and MCZs, including the existing MPA in the BIOT at Chagos.
I would like to know if there are any agreement or understanding between any or all parties involved in the UK MPAs and MCZs, (including the UK Government, Defra, and the members of the UK MPA steering group), for Pew to be able to lease any of these areas, in whole or in part, to other corporations.
I would also like to see previous voting records, (if there are any to date), by the members of the Government's independent scientific advisory body, who are considering the proposed MPAs and MCZs, chaired by Dr. Peter Ryder.
Three members of this panel of nine publicly support a current Pew initiative.
Naturally to gauge their independence, I would like to see if any of these members have previously voted against each other in their capacity as members of the Government's advisory body.

Dear Helpline, Defra (CCU),
With regards to my request for DEFRA to supply material relating to the involvement of PEW in the UK MPAs & MCZs both in the UK, & the Chagos BIOT, the information pertaining to this request has not been received.
I have received an acknowledgment of the request, but believe by law the authority should have complied with the initial request for the information, which it has failed to do.
I now invite you to reply fully to the initial request, which should have been by 24th November 2011
