Progression and Development of Officers

We're waiting for Martyn Smith to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Police Scotland,

I would be obliged if, under FOI legislation, you would provide me with the following information for the last 6 years (2014 to current date). I am happy for information in calendar year, or financial year depending on how you store/process it.

For the date ranges provided, in respect of officers who applied for promotion to the rank of Sergeant, please advise
1. Total number of applications received
2. Of those applications, how many were successful at the ‘paper sift’
3. Of those successful at the sift, how many were successful at interview/assessment centre and therefore considered ‘suitable for promotion’.
Please break this information down by year.

For the date ranges provided, in respect of officers who applied for promotion to the rank of Inspector, please advise
1. Total number of applications received
2. Of those applications, how many were successful at the ‘paper sift’
3. Of those successful at the sift, how many were successful at interview/assessment centre and therefore considered ‘suitable for promotion’.

For the date ranges provided, in respect of officers who applied for promotion to the rank of Chief Inspector, please advise

For the date ranges provided, please advise how many spaces on the diploma in police service leadership and management were made available to officers and what financial cost this was to the organisation to run/administer.
Please break this information down by year. Where there is a reduction in spaces offered to officers, please provide decision making logs re this. Including minutes of meetings held by senior managers or copies of emails rationalising this decision.

Please advise how many constables are currently ‘qualified’ and have obtained the diploma in police service leadership and management. Please break this down by division/department.
