Private sector discharges

The request was successful.

Dear Bexley Borough Council,

Could I please have the following information for the last year:

Question 1
1a) The number of households given a private rented sector offer to
discharge your full housing duty under Section 193 7AA-7AC of the 1996
Housing Act as amended by s.148 (5)-(7) Localism Act 2011.
1b) The number to 1a broken down for each local authority area into which
they were offered housing (eg. 5 to Luton).
1c) The number of households of 1a who actually took the private sector
offer.
1d) The number to 1c broken down for each local authority area into which
they accepted the offer of housing (eg. 3 to Luton).

Question 2
2a) The number of households for whom you had a homelessness duty to and
this was discharged through a private rented sector tenancy, but not
through a Section 193 7AA-7AC offer (therefore excluding the numbers in
1a).
2b) The number to 2a broken down for each local authority area into which
they were housed.

Question 3
3a) The number of households you have helped into private sector tenancies
for whom you have no homelessness duty under the Housing Act 1996.
3b) The number to 3a broken down for each local authority area into which
they were housed.

Question 4
If you make private rented sector offers to
discharge your full housing duty under Section 193 7AA-7AC of the 1996
Housing Act as amended by s.148 (5)-(7) Localism Act 2011, can I please have the guidance your housing officers follow when making these offers?

Yours faithfully,

Elizabeth Wyatt
