Private landlords

Thank you for your request for information. In answer to your enquiry I can
provide the following response on behalf of East Dunbartonshire Council

1. Since. January 2010 to December 2019 how many applications were made
to register as a private landlord?

This is impossible to answer fully because the system was wholly
redeveloped in February 2017. This means the information can be provided,
but we can only from this date. With this in mind here are the Scottish
Government lines on the system limitations:

The Landlord Registration system is provided by the Scottish Government and
offers the following functions:
· The online application process used by landlords
· The public search facility used by tenants and neighbours
· The administrative portal used by local authority Landlord
Registration teams

This online platform was wholly redeveloped and re-launched in February
2017. Information relating to applications under the legacy system is no
longer available.

The number of applications received by East Dunbartonshire Council on the
new system since February 2017 to date is as follows:
· New applications: 786
· Renewal applications: 2113

2. Same period how many applications were rejected?
Total number of registrations rejected: 0

3. Same period how many registrations were revoked?
Total number of registrations revoked: 2

4. What type of Disclosure Scotland certificate do you obtain if at all
on the applicant?
This information is not required through landlord registration.

Should you have any questions on the content of the response and would like
the Local Authority to clarify or explain, please do feel free to get in
contact, citing the enquiry reference number above.

If you are dissatisfied with the way in which East Dunbartonshire Council
