Dear East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust,

Under the Freedom of Information Act I would like to request the following information:

How many ambulances dispatched following 999 calls were operated by private ambulance firms in 2019?

How much did East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust spend on private ambulance services in 2019? If possible please provide the cost of emergency responce services and patient transport services separately.

Which, if any, private ambulance firms received money for operation of services on behalf of East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust in 2019?

Further to your email dated 13th February 2020, Your request has been
allocated the following reference: 25263, please could you quote this
reference in any future correspondence with the Trust.

 

Further to FoI request 24676, I would like to request documents which set
out the standards that private ambulance companies have to meet in order
to be qualified to respond to emergency 999 calls on behalf of East of
England Ambulance Service NHS Trust. I would also like to request
documents which set out any other factors which are considered (cost,
availability, geographical location or others) in deciding if a private
ambulance company is fit for operating on behalf of East of England
Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

 

We procure private ambulance providers through the East Midlands DPS
Framework of which providers need to have applied and passed to be on.

 

The DPS framework has T&Cs which are attached.  EEAST go out for further
competition with a specification detailed around our requirements and any
other further T&Cs over and above the DPS framework (copy attached) to
which providers on the DPS can submit a bid. 

 

Further more all providers have to be accredited before we start using
them (document attached).
