Joao Curro, The Law Society

Dear Ms Blake

Freedom of Information Request – Our Ref: FOI/BS/1170

Further to my colleague Joao Curro’s email of 05 February 2014, please
find below the response to your information request under the Law Society
Freedom of Information Code of Practice ("the Code").

You have requested access to the following information:

“Can you please disclose how many solicitors firm were practising in
Prison Law in  the year 2012 and 2013. how many have given notice to close
their department for future projection of year 2014”

The Solicitors Regulation Authority (‘SRA’) does not have a category of
‘Prison Law’ in its database therefore we are unable to provide you with
the requested information.

Similarly, we are unable to provide you with information on firms which
have given notice to close their department as the SRA does not record
this until the firm has closed.

I hope this information is of use and I am sorry I am unable to assist you
further on this occasion.

Yours sincerely
