Possible double counting of mortality numbers.

Public Health England did not have the information requested.

Dear Public Health England,

Please could you tell me whether those England and Wales citizens who have been deemed to have died linked to Coronavirus, currently amounting to some 130,000, are also recorded as having died due to another cause, possibly the principal cause, of death, such as a road traffic accident or heart attack.

Yours faithfully,

peter k. roberts.

Dear FOI,

Thank you for your considered reply to my FOI Request, the content of which I note.

I wonder if your office can tell me the actual number of England and Wales citizens who have died since the number of Covid 19 linked deaths started to be calculated and published, from any form of influenza?

Yours sincerely,

peter k. roberts.

I have submitted a follow up request to help clarify my thoughts on this matter, relating to numbers of flu deaths since Covid related mortalities were first published.

Response

PHE can confirm the subject matter in question does not fall within PHE’s

My enquiry has been refused as they do not have the numbers I've requested.

Re-directed to the ONS who are already helping my quest.
