Dear Ms Harris

I write in connection with your request for information dated 21^st July
concerning the policing of events.

I regret to inform you that Avon and Somerset Constabulary have not been
able to complete its response to your request by the date originally
stated.

I now advise you that the amended date for a response is no later than
17^th September.  This is due to consideration being given to the
application of a qualified exemption in relation to the figures for
Glastonbury festival and as such will require further consideration
regarding the public interest test.  If for any reason you no longer
require these particular costs please let me know.

I can assure you that every effort will be made to ensure an appropriate
response will be made within this new timescale.

May I apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your
request.

Yours sincerely

I'd be curious what exemption they'll claim, as they have answered a similar request in previous years...

Dear Ms Harris

I write in connection with your request for information dated 21^st July

and Somerset Constabulary charged organisations of festivals, concerts etc
for policing their event and there is a minimum of 15,000 persons at each
event in each of the past 2 financial years.

Clarification received:

With regards to festivals I am seeking information for Glastonbury and
Mall Cribbs Causeway.

I am also seeking the costs regards policing football games.

Please find the information requested in below. As stated previously we
are unable to confirm if there were more than 15,000 people in attendance.

2012/13 - The Mall JLS - £2,057.11 Inc Vat

2013/14 - The Mall The Saturdays - £2,100.57 Inc Vat

2013/14 Glastonbury - £1,344.456.91 Inc Vat

There was no Glastonbury Festival in 2012.

Costs of policing football games:

+------------------------------------------------------------------------+
|Team |2013/14 |2012/13 |
|------------------------+---------------------+-------------------------|
|Total |£155,213.87 |£114,182.92 |
+------------------------------------------------------------------------+

* These figures include matches played by Bristol City, Bristol Rovers and
Yeovil Town. The figures provided do not include VAT.

2. Also could you give me a sample form Avon and Somerset Constabulary
fill in and send it to the event organisation seeking to recoup policing
costs.

Please find the form attached.

3. Also do Avon and Somerset Constabulary send out the bill to event
organisation within 1 week after the event in relation to policing costs.

Organisations are billed as per the agreement in the contract with them.

4. Also the number of times within the past 2 financial years that Avon
and Somerset Constabulary took legal action against event organisation
with regards to any outstanding policing cost with regard to their event

Legal action has taken twice in the last two financial years.
