Good afternoon,

Regarding your recent FOI request please see below and attached our
response (apologies for it being a few days late) :-

1.       A copy of any Trans Inclusion Toolkit(s) and/or Transgender
Learners Policy approved, used or distributed by your LEA.

Isle of Anglesey County Council co constructed the transgender policy with
Gwynedd LEA.  As part of the integrated inclusion service it was felt 
important that we had consistency throughout both Counties.

We also were supported by Stonewall. That said we are aware that this
policy will need to be update in line with new Curriculum for Wales and
other known most recent  best practice advice from PHW and  Stonewall.
 The toolkit supplied to school presently are what is being offered by
Viva LGBTQ+ / Viva LHDTC+  

We are aware that  Welsh Government are developing an Action Plan to
strengthen protections for LGBTQ+ people, promote equality for all and
help to co-ordinate ambitious actions across government and beyond. We
are awaiting further guidance on this .

We will also advice school to use resources from Pride. We also work
alongside our Children’s Service in Social Service so if a pupil or family
needs support we work well across agencies to offer this support.  

2.       A copy of the full Equality Impact Assessment undertaken before
adopting, using or distributing the above.

Our Youth Engagement Officers  are in the process of  creating an Equality
Impact Assessment for their services and LGBTQ+ clubs that we have in each
of our secondary schools.  As members we will be working alongside
Stonewall to ensure we have the most current and best practice possible.

3.       If no documentation is held in relation to Q2 above, please
indicate whether or not an Equality Impact Assessment was undertaken.

4.       A copy of any information you hold regarding the process followed
to check that the above policies and/or toolkit(s) are compliant with (and
do not misrepresent) the Equality Act 2010, the Human Rights Act 1998,
safeguarding legislation/Working Together, the Education Act 1996, the
Education (School Premises) Regulations 1999 (regarding single-sex toilet
provision) and other relevant legislation, including the outcome of such
checks.

Everything we offer to school so far have been  directed from Stonewall
including template policy.  We are currently working with Public Health
Wales and Welsh Government to ensure all resources available with the new
curriculum for Wales are compliant with best practice and legislation.

5. If no information is held in relation to Q4 above, please indicate
whether or not such legal checks took place.

6.       A copy of any information you hold regarding checks made to
ensure that the content of the documents referred to in Q1 above reflected
clinical best practice and current healthcare guidelines.
