Police Funding

The request was successful.

Dear Waltham Forest Borough Council,

I am writing under the Freedom of Information Act to request information the council holds pertaining to the following:

How many Metropolitan Police officers are funded wholly or partly by Waltham Forest Council? How much does this cost Waltham Forest Council annually?
How many Metropolitan Police officers are deployed to Waltham Forest under the MOPAC Met Patrol Plus scheme?
How are these additional police officers deployed within Waltham Forest? If they are deployed on a per-ward basis, please provide the numbers of additional officers assigned to each ward.
How many Community Payback projects operate in Waltham Forest? Please provide details of each project.
Does Waltham Forest Council have a process for identifying and nominating projects for the Community Payback scheme? If so, please provide an outline of this process.

I would ask that you remember the statutory duty imposed upon public authorities by virtue of Section 16 of the Freedom of Information Act to provide advice and assistance to requesters. If for any reason you are leaning toward rejecting any part of this request or if you plan to argue that it is unmanageable or unanswerable in any way then I would expect you to contact me promptly to find ways to answer this request to our mutual satisfaction. If the information requested is already publicly available, then I would expect you to point me in the direction by which this information can be found.

Yours faithfully,

Naomi McCarthy
