Planning to accommodate cycle *variants*

Haringey Borough Council did not have the information requested.

Dear Haringey Borough Council,

Cycling infrastructure:
Current and past planning for cycle variants
----------------------------------------------------------
Not all human-powered transport conforms to the scheme of the classic "Safety" bicycle. Please provide copies of any plans, reports, references or white-papers to any of the following variants that may become relatively more prevalent in future:

1. Trikes?
2. Cargo bikes?
3. Velomobiles?
4. Has the council considered these machines in their current forward planning?

These variants may need special attention because, although they operate at similar speeds to regular diamond-framed machines, they are of course *wider* and require more storage space. This may be a question for the Planning Department or for Sustainable Transport.

Please answer each of these four questions separately and note that I do not seek information about *standard* bicycles. Please note the particular focus of this question. If the answer is that no information is held about any of this, please just say so. Many thanks.

Yours faithfully,

Clive Carter

Dear Mr Carter,

Re: Freedom of Information Act Request ref: LBH/9276219

Thank you for your request for information received on 29 October 2019, in
which you asked for any plans, reports, references or white-papers on the
named cycle ‘variants’:

My response is as follows: The Council does not hold any plans, reports,
references or white-papers on the named cycle ‘variants’. The Council will
be implementing the new draft London Plan policy which requires some
cycling spaces to be larger than at present. The Council will also be
publishing a Walking and Cycling Action Plan to consider issues around
non-car travel modes.

If you are unhappy with how we have responded to your request you can ask
us to conduct an Internal Review. If so, please contact the Feedback and
Information Team as below. (Please note you should do this within two
months of receiving this response.)
