Dear John Griffiths

ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION REGULATIONS 2004 - INFORMATION REQUEST

Thank you for your request for information received on 11th April. We have
considered your request and enclose the following information –

(1) How many planning permission requests did you receive in 2021?

This information is available on Planning’s Public Access system on the
Council’s website using the following link:

[1]http://www.caerphilly.gov.uk/Services/Pl...

A User Guide can be found on-line, however, I would suggest you use the
Advanced Search option and complete the Date Valid fields at the bottom of
the screen.  Please note that you will need to break your date range down
into smaller date ranges (ideally monthly) as there will be too many
results to show as a whole year.

Under Exception 6(1)(b), we are not required to provide information in
response to a request if the information is already publicly available and
easily accessible to the applicant in another form or format.  In
accordance with Regulation 12 of the Environmental Information Regulations
this letter acts as a Refusal Notice.

(2) How many planning permission requests were rejected last year?

This information is also available using the link referred to above.  When
using the Advanced Search option, select Refused in the Decision field and
enter the relevant date range at the bottom of the screen.  Again, you may
have to break your date range down into smaller date ranges as there may
be too many results to show as a whole year.

Under Exception 6(1)(b), we are not required to provide information in
response to a request if the information is already publicly available and
easily accessible to the applicant in another form or format.  In
accordance with Regulation 12 of the Environmental Information Regulations
this letter acts as a Refusal Notice.

(3) Of these, how many were rejected due to: badgers, bats, birds,
dormice, newts, invertebrates, natterjack toads, otters, reptiles, water
voles, white-clawed crayfish, or other?

As above.  The reasons for refusal will be contained in the Decision
Notice available to view in the Documents Tab.

Under Exception 6(1)(b), we are not required to provide information in
response to a request if the information is already publicly available and
easily accessible to the applicant in another form or format.  In
accordance with Regulation 12 of the Environmental Information Regulations
this letter acts as a Refusal Notice.

We supply this information based on your original request.  If this is not
what you wanted or if you feel we have not fully understood your request
please do not hesitate to contact me to clarify your exact requirements.

Please note that we have dealt with your enquiry under the Environmental
Information Regulations 2004. Environmental information is exempt from
disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 by a Section 39
exemption. This exemption exists due to provision for access to this type
of information already being provided for by the Environmental Information
Regulations 2004. Therefore in accordance with Section 17 of the Freedom
of Information Act 2000 this letter acts as a Refusal Notice to supply
this information under the Freedom of Information Act.

If you have any queries or concerns or are in any way dissatisfied with
the handling of your request please contact us.

Yours sincerely
