Planning permission rejections due to protected species in England

I'm writing to enquire about the following information in relation to your Local Planning Authority.
I would like to know:
• How many planning permission requests were received last year?
• How many planning permission requests were rejected last year?
• How many planning permission requests were rejected due to protected species?
• Of these, how many were rejected due to: badgers, bats, birds, dormice, newts, invertebrates, natterjack toads, otters, reptiles, water voles, white-clawed crayfish, or other?

Thank you for your below request for information submitted to Worcester
City Council on 11 April 2022 which has been handled under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000. I apologise for the delay in the response.
Response:
• How many planning permission requests were received last year?
• How many planning permission requests were rejected last year?
• How many planning permission requests were rejected due to protected
species?
• Of these, how many were rejected due to: badgers, bats, birds, dormice,
newts, invertebrates, natterjack toads, otters, reptiles, water voles,
white-clawed crayfish, or other?
In respect of the request, I can confirm that Worcester City Council
received 682 requests for planning permission in various forms over the
course of 2021.
The City Council refused 57 applications over the course of 2021.
The City Council do not monitor the reasons for refusal and which
applications were refused in relation to protected species. However all
applications and decisions are available to be viewed on the Council’s
website and therefore this part of the request is exempt under section 21
– Information reasonably accessible by other means. All planning
