Planning appeal costs

Roedd y cais yn llwyddiannus.

Dear Aylesbury Vale District Council,

Please could you supply, for each of the last five years (or as many as are available):
- the number of planning applications received
- the number refused
- the number of those refusals which subsequently go to an appeal (in any form)
- the number of those appeals allowed
- the total (any and all related) costs (including but not limited to council staff time, legal and consultant fees, any costs awarded if applicable) to the Council of defending those appeals

If you are only in possession of some of these figures, please supply what you are able to.

Yours faithfully,

Ross Sturley

Dear Aylesbury Vale District Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Aylesbury Vale District Council's handling of my FOI request 'Planning appeal costs'.

I asked for information on planning refusals, and appeals and was referred to the standard stats at gov.uk. These do not include any information on appeals.

I also asked for the total (any and all related) costs (including but not limited to council staff time, legal and consultant fees, any costs awarded if applicable) to the Council of defending those appeals.

The answer given was that this information is not recorded. I find this hard to believe. Why is this not recorded? Surely the information on any fees paid, costs awarded, and so on, would be stored in the finance systems?

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/p...

Yours faithfully,

ross sturley
