According to the National Archives, information on the Piper Alpha Disaster Trust Fund is held in archives at Aberdeen Town House - reference this link: Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire Archive has some records http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk...
I would like to have:
1. Current balance of this fund
2. Names of trustees or directors of the fund and how they can be contacted
3. Description and date range of the archives: ie. number of ledger books, files, archive boxes - so as to get an idea as to the volume of information held
4. Status of the fund - has it been closed? How was it closed if so?
5. Without disclosing names or other personal data of individuals or families, supply a list of what payments were made out of the fund showing date, amount, reason for payment, and if payment was made to an organisation, company, public or private entity, then show name of such organisation as well as supply a copy of any invoice that formed basis for any payment.
6. Council (ACC) has completed the necessary search for the information
requested.

Disaster Trust Fund is held in archives at Aberdeen Town House - reference

1. Current balance of this fund
The trust was wound up on the 12 December 1989.
2. Names of trustees or directors of the fund and how they can be
contacted
As the trust being wound up in 1989, there are no trustees/directors.
The trustees at the time were: The Lord Provost of Aberdeen; The Rt. Hon.
The Viscount of Arbuthnott; Rev. Andrew Wylie; Richard T. Ellis; Captain
Colin Farquharson; Dr. Geoffrey Hadley, Convenor, Grampian Regional
Council; David R. Paton, Leslie Lintott and Associates.
3. Description and date range of the archives: ie. number of ledger
books, files, archive boxes - so as to get an idea as to the volume of
information held
The collection comprises 4 archive boxes and 4 folders (a total of 0.5
linear metres) with a date range of 1988-1993.
4. Status of the fund - has it been closed? How was it closed if so?
Trust was wound up on 12 December 1989. During the period from July 1988
to March 1989, £5,073,338 was disbursed to beneficiaries, and the Trustees
agreed that the balance remaining, together with any future donations and
interest earned thereon would be paid to the Royal National Lifeboat
Institution (RNLI). A payment of £7,900.12 was made to the RNLI on the 12
December 1989
5. Without disclosing names or other personal data of individuals or
families, supply a list of what payments were made out of the fund showing
date, amount, reason for payment, and if payment was made to an
organisation, company, public or private entity, then show name of such
organisation as well as supply a copy of any invoice that formed basis for
any payment.

ACC is unable to provide you with information on names and personal
details as it is exempt from disclosure. In order to comply with its
obligations under the terms of Section 16 of the FOISA, ACC hereby gives
notice that we are refusing your request under the terms of Section
38(1)(b) in conjunction with 38(2A)(a)(i) – Personal Information - of the
FOISA.
In making this decision ACC considered the following points:
ACC is of the opinion that Section 38(1)(b) applies to the information
specified above as any information held is personal information relating
to living individuals, of which the applicant is not the data subject.
ACC is of the opinion that Section 38(2A)(a)(i) applies, as we consider
that disclosure of this information would be a breach of the ‘lawfulness,
fairness and transparency’ principle. This individual has not consented to
the disclosure of their information, and ACC does not consider that they
would expect ACC to release this information about them into the public
domain under the FOISA.
