Dear Dr Vishal Vora,

Thank you for your Freedom of Information Act request of 10^th October
2018. I have reproduced your questions below together with SOAS’s
response.

Following the Times Higher Education article dated 02.04.2018, Valerie
Amos, the Director of SOAS said she was initiating a review to examine the
lessons to be learned by the school.

What is the update of this review?

  Our response

A review of how we improve the way in which our doctoral students are
supported at SOAS is being led by our new Head of the Doctoral School,
with the support of our new Pro-Director of Research. It focuses on issues
which our doctoral students say are most important to them and we will be
setting out this term a series of improvements in our practices to ensure
we provide excellent support to them now and in the future.
