Answer No. 1
The management company overseeing the Salisbury DGH PFI scheme commissioned
a visual survey of the Salisbury PFI buildings and subsequently a sample
intrusive survey was undertaken in May by a specialist company and nothing
untoward was identified in the construction methods.

The intrusive investigations were undertaken by a specialist contractor
under full time supervision of a suitably qualified structural engineer. The
investigations took place at locations, at varying heights, identified by
the engineer prior to commencement. The investigations take took place
sought to identify and examine cavity wall ties, frame cramps and header
ties. During the investigations a number of external facing bricks were
removed to undertake physical observations of the condition of the ties and
to measure the embedment depths. The survey concluded that all ties observed
were installed to the correct specifications in respect of spacing and
embedment and were all in good condition. Therefore, the engineer does not
recommend that any further investigations are undertaken.

A subsequent review has taken place following the Grenfall Tower disaster
and this has shown that there are no issues with fire safety.
