On 23 March 2018, then-Leader of the House Julie James AM announced £440,000 of funding over the next two years and additional capital funding of £700,000 for to local authorities to “tackle period poverty in their communities where levels of deprivation are highest” with a view to “ensuring that all girls and young women can access good sanitary facilities when they need them.”

In relation to this over £1 million of funding made available to local authorities, please answer:

1. Have you received any of this money?
1a. Was this at your request?
1b. How much money have you received from this particular budget and what is your spend to date?
1c. What has the money been spent on, and where?
1d. How many girls and young women have benefitted from your access to this budget and in what way?
1e. What is your projected total spend and budget narrative for this budget?
2. If you haven’t received any of this money, what is the reason for this?
3. How many girls and young women do you estimate experience period poverty in your local authority?
4. Please detail any other specific measures you have taken to tackle period poverty.
