Period of stay with standard visa of 6 months

Dear HM Passport Office,

I am living in the UK with my my wife, Ozge Onel, since 15th November 2018 with Tier-2 General visa and we have residence permit. My wife is expecting a baby and due date is 29th August, 2019. We have invited my wife's parents to visit us at our house in UK before the birth. My wife's parents would like to stay with us in the UK for about 3.5 months. It is the first time that they are going to apply for a 6-months standard UK visa and they have not travelled to the UK before.

I would kindly ask if they can apply for a visa to stay for 3.5 months period without any restrictions. Our concern is that their visa would not be granted for intending to stay during that period.

Yours faithfully,
Aybars Onel
