Pending fraud investigations

The request was refused by Slough Borough Council.

Dear Slough Borough Council,

I would like to know how many current on-going investigations are there at the fraud department that are still "pending" ?
And also whats the longest time they have on a pending case?

Also if there anyone higher up then the Fraud Manager if for instance she has taken shortcuts during an investigation such as "missing a bedroom during a search and claiming there were no childrens toys or photos on walls" ?

Yours faithfully,

Bill

Dear Mr Bradshaw

The council are unable to provide details of on going fraud investigations and will rely on S30 (1) to withhold this information.
Section 30(1) provides an exemption from the duty to disclose information that a public authority has held at any time for certain investigations or proceedings.

Council fraud investigators have no right of entry and will not undertake a search of a house, however they may accompany an SBC colleague, for example trading standards or planning or an officer from an external organisation such as the police and these officers would have the right of entry and / or the right to carry out a search under warrant.

Regards, SBC FOI Officer
