Pedestrian Crossings with White Globe Beacon

I am looking to find out the locations of Pedestrian ‘Centre Island’ crossings in Nottinghamshire County Council. Please can you provide me with the following information:

1) A list of all the pedestrian crossings marked with a white centre island globe beacon within Nottinghamshire County Council boundaries.

2) Information on how many ‘White centre island globe beacons’ on each crossing point.

3) The above would ideally include the use of the Geo-coordinate system information of each site, but also the street name and location.

The information will be used to provide a complete map of the District to aid in the navigation of Nottinghamshire County Council for pedestrians.

Further to your request, the initial response from the department is
below. Please can you advise;

 

 

Regarding this FOI, it may be terminology, but white beacons (refuge
beacons) are installed on central split islands not pedestrian crossings.
Pedestrian crossings (zebra's) have yellow belisha beacons.

 

We have 928 refuge beacons countywide as of 1st April 2020 and I can get
you an updated figure. 

 

What we can do is HAMS data extract for each unit giving its GPS position,
Street Name and associated feature details. That in itself will answer
questions 1 & 3 and the answer to question 2 will be one in the majority
of cases.

 

Before we do this, would you mind checking that they mean Refuge Beacons
(white) and whether they would like the Pedestrian Crossings (yellow) data
as well. Well need to run a defined report so its just as easy to include
both if required.
