Payments to KPMG related to Due Diligence report

Paul Wiggina made this Freedom of Information request to Liverpool City Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Gwrthodwyd y cais gan Liverpool City Council.

Dear Liverpool City Council,

Please provide details of all payments to KPMG in the financial years 2014/15 and 2015/16 which specifically relate to the work undertaken in relation to the due diligence reports on LDL.

To be explicit : the monthly reports showing payments over £500 are not an acceptable response, as these do not provide a breakdown of what the money was spent on.

I specifically require the cost of KPMG's engagement in relation to the LDL due diligence work.

Yours faithfully,

Paul Wiggins

Symm, Kevin, Liverpool City Council

Dear Sir,

Section 8 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 states:-

"In this Act any reference to a 'request for information' is a reference to such a request which-

is in writing, states the real name of the applicant and an address for correspondence"

While we have an address for correspondence we do not believe this to be your real name. As such, and in accordance with Section 8 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 could you provide us documentary evidence as to your identity.

Until we have this information we will not be proceeding with your request

Dear Mr Symm,

I'm puzzled by your response.

My real name is Paul Wiggins. The website has me down as Paul Wiggina, which I haven't yet worked out how to correct, but my signature was clearly Paul Wiggins.

Why would you not accept this as a real name?

Yours sincerely,

Paul Wiggins

Symm, Kevin, Liverpool City Council

Dear Mr Wiggins

We have reason to believe this is not your real name and, as previously outlined, we require documentary evidence proving otherwise

Until this is provided to the City Council we will not be proceeding with your request

Dear Paul,
We have reason to believe that you have been impersonating Father Christmas. Cease immediately or the Council will confiscate your beard

Paul - to change typo in your name in the site, definitely worth trying the "Contact" button in the footer. WhatDoTheyKnow has a great team of volunteer admins who I think will fix it for you!

There's info about making requests using real names in the WhatDoTheyKnow FAQ at https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/help/priv... - in particular see the guidance from the ICO there.

In short though, legally you do have to use a real name, but it is bad practice for an authority to care.
