Paying the Living Wage to adult care workers in the private sector
Dear Aberdeen City Council,
The Scottish Government and COSLA made a joint agreement to ensure that adult care workers were paid the Living Wage, even if they work in the private sector.
https://news.gov.scot/news/living-wage-f...
1. Please list all the care providers, in all sectors, that the council currently purchases adult care services from.
2. Additionally, please could you supply me with any information held by the council that confirms the minimum rate of pay provided to care workers by each adult care supplier paid by the council.
3. Where a care provider which is receiving payment from the council is not currently paying its workers the Living Wage please supply me with copies of all relevant correspondence between the provider and the council that references this issue.
4. Lastly please provide me with copies of any correspondence between the council and the Scottish Government or COSLA that relates to the implementation of the Living Wage pledge.
This may include extracts of tender documentation, tender documentation assessment notes, meeting records, emails or other reports or surveys undertaken and produced by council staff.

2. Additionally, please could you supply me with any information held by
the council that confirms the minimum rate of pay provided to care workers
by each adult care supplier paid by the council.
The Council does not hold this information.
The only information the Council holds is the overall rate that is paid to
the Provider for the service delivered which will include Provider
overheads and other costs. The rates could be quarterly, monthly, weekly
or hourly for block funded or spot purchased contracts.
ACC is unable to provide you with information that confirms the minimum
rate of pay provided to care workers by each adult care supplier paid by
the council as it is not held by ACC. In order to comply with its
obligations under the terms of Section 17 of the FOISA, ACC hereby gives
notice that this information is not held by it.
3. Where a care provider which is receiving payment from the council is
not currently paying its workers the Living Wage please supply me with
copies of all relevant correspondence between the provider and the council
that references this issue.
There is no correspondence between the Council and Providers specifically
in relation to non-payment of the Living Wage.
ACC is unable to provide you with information on copies of all relevant
correspondence between the provider and the council where a care provider
which is receiving payment from the council is not currently paying its
workers the Living Wage as it is not held by ACC. In order to comply with
its obligations under the terms of Section 17 of the FOISA, ACC hereby
gives notice that this information is not held by it.
4. Lastly please provide me with copies of any correspondence between the
council and the Scottish Government or COSLA that relates to the
implementation of the Living Wage pledge.
The Council has not corresponded with the Scottish Government or COSLA in
relation to the implementation of the Living Wage pledge.
ACC is unable to provide you with information on copies of any
