Pavement Parking (TRO)

Mark Vokes made this Rhyddid Gwybodaeth request to Chelmsford City Council

Automatic anti-spam measures are in place for this older request. Please let us know if a further response is expected or if you are having trouble responding.

We're waiting for Mark Vokes to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Chelmsford City Council,

As local authorities can restrict pavement parking on individual streets (or by area) by making a traffic regulation order (TRO).

Would you please advise as to which towns falling under your jurisdiction have Traffic Regulation Order(s) restricting pavement parking & further breakdown which streets/areas in each town(s) any such restricted pavement parking TRO(s) are applied to?

Do you have an online resource in the public domain which would allow members of public to view active TRO(s)? If you do, would you kindly publish a link to it when responding to this request? If not, would you please provide the email or physical address of the department within your organisation responsible for such matters when replying to this request?

And finally, I would be very grateful if you would clarify whether restricted parking signs are required to be displayed in a restricted pavement parking area in order for civil enforcement action to be effectively carried out should non compliance of a TRO occur?

A swift response to all of the above questions would be enormously appreciated.

Yours faithfully,

Mark Vokes

Information Request, Chelmsford City Council

Dear Mark,

I am sending this email in response to your Freedom of Information Act
(2000) request reference IR 8466. Please use this reference in any
subsequent contact relating to this request.

Response

Please see a response below each of your questions:

 1. Would you please advise as to which towns falling under your
jurisdiction have Traffic Regulation Order(s) restricting pavement
parking & further breakdown which streets/areas in each town(s) any
such restricted pavement parking TRO(s) are applied to?

There are no streets that have a designated Traffic Regulation Order for
the purpose of restricting pavement parking within the Council’s
jurisdiction.

 2. Do you have an online resource in the public domain which would allow
members of public to view active TRO(s)? If you do, would you kindly
publish a link to it when responding to this request? If not, would
you please provide the email or physical address of the department
within your organisation responsible for such matters when replying to
this request?

There is an online webpage regarding active TRO(s). Please see the
following link: [1]Essex Traffweb

 3. And finally, I would be very grateful if you would clarify whether
restricted parking signs are required to be displayed in a restricted
pavement parking area in order for civil enforcement action to be
effectively carried out should non compliance of a TRO occur?

If the authority were to implement a pavement parking restriction, the
Council would display signs to indicate the restriction.
