Passport Backlog

The request was successful.

Dear HM Passport Office,

I am writing to request under the Freedom of Information Act the current number of passport applications in the Passport Office system, as well at the current backlog.

I would define the current number of passport applications as the number of passport applications which the Passport Office received that are complete, and for which neither a a passport has been issued nor the application refused. I would define the backlog as the number of the set of current passport applications for which the Passport Office has not responded to within the internal deadline, which I understand to be three weeks.

I am happy to accept alternative definitions of the above if that is what the Passport Office hold, so long as such definitions are reasonably similar to mine.

Yours faithfully,

Mr Ng

Dear HM Passport Office,

I am writing in response to your email of 27 March, in which you state that the Passport Office is still looking into my FOIA request. It has now been another week since the original response was due; could you let me know when you expect to be able to fulfill my request?

Yours sincerely,

Mr Ng

Dear HM Passport Office,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of HM Passport Office's handling of my FOI request 'Passport Backlog'. A substantive response was due by 26 March under the Freedom of Information Act, and I have only received an acknowledgement of the receipt of the request and a note indicating that response would be delayed. An enquiry as to when a response was due did not receive a reply, hence my request for an internal review.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/p...

Yours faithfully,

Mr Ng
