Dear Chesham Town Council,
Please provide:-

• The cost of installing the parking meter including the cost of any changes to road markings and signage.
• The ongoing cost of maintenance of the meter including regular emptying of money.
• Revenue received from parking charges for the first 12 months of operation.
• Revenue from parking fines.

In addition, (i) was an impact survey carried out prior to the installation of the meter to assess the impact of the charges on footfall in town centre shops, (ii) has an impact survey been carried out following the first 12 months of operation to assess whether there has been any impact on footfall in town centre shops?

Yours faithfully,

Joseph Walsh

Maria McGwynn, Chesham Town Council

Dear Mr Walsh,

We did not receive your original email. We do not look after the parking meter in Station Road. The responsible Council for this is Buckinghamshire County Council.

Many thanks

Dear Mr Walsh,

The item you are referring to went to our Development Control meeting over 2 years ago. I have attached the related papers for you to look at , along with the notice which was put up on nearby lampposts , so they did consult with the general public and asked for responses by the 3rd March 2016.

I have also attached the minutes of the meeting which clearly shows that this Council was not in favour of the pay and display machines and conveyed this back to Buckinghamshire County Council - but as I explained previously Bucks County Council own the roads/pavements so their decision to install over ruled the Town Council's comments.

Many thanks
Kindest Regards
