Outsourced Radiology Reporting Services
Dear Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust,
I would be most grateful if you would provide me, under the Freedom of Information Act, details in respect to the following.
The details we require are:
• Does the Trust make use of outsourced tele-radiology reporting services for either overnight on-call (emergency) or routine radiology reporting (or both)?
• If you do make use of tele-radiology reporting, please provide the names of the providers of each service (on-call and elective separately please)?
• If you do make use of tele-radiology reporting services, please provide the annual volumes for both 2019 and for 2020 sent to each provider, broken into the following:
o Overnight on-call
o Elective Reporting (MRI, CT)
o Plain Film Reporting
o Split into each hospital within the Trust
• Start date, duration and end date of any contracts with tele-radiology providers?
• Was the contract procured via a framework (direct award, which framework?), mini-tender, or ITT procurement process?
• Who is the senior officer (outside of procurement) responsible for this contract?
Thank you for your help.
Yours faithfully,
Mr J Hetfield

Dear Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust's handling of my FOI request 'Outsourced Radiology Reporting Services'.
Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust should have responded by now.
Please send the answers to the questions immediately to avoid escalation to the relevant authorities.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/o...

Dear ACCESSTOINFORMATIONOFFICE (WIRRAL UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITAL NHS FOUNDATION TRUST),
Hello, I have requested an internal review of my FOI request which was not responded to.
Unfortunately I haven't received an acknowledgement of my internal review.
If I don't receive an acknowledgement I'll have no choice but to refer this to the Information Commissioner.
Yours sincerely,
Mr. J Hetfield

Dear Mr Hetfield
We write further to your request for an Internal Review with regards to
the Trust's failure to respond to your request for information within the
Statutory Timeframe detailed within the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
We have now reviewed how the Trust dealt with your application and would
like to apologise again for the delay you experienced in receiving the
information requested. The Trust has recently undergone changes within its
organisational structure which, unfortunately, caused uncertainty
regarding the line of responsibility for answering this request.
As a result of this, the department concerned has reviewed their processes
and will, of course, reflect on this matter moving forward to ensure any
misunderstandings are addressed at the earliest opportunity.
We would also advise that this Trust has a strict authorisation process in
place for the handling and release of information which, unfortunately, on
this occasion, added to the delay.
Attached is our response
Yours sincerely
Jan Taylor
