Dear Gene,

 

We have disclosed the information held by the Vale of White Horse District
Council which has been used to determine how best to meet the leisure and
sport requirement for the current residents and in the future, following
the proposed developments in the area.  This information provided the
basis for a core facility mix from which an options appraisal and business
case were completed to test the impact of various facility mix choices and
their associated capital costs for the new district leisure centre
proposed at Mably Way, Grove.

 

Under section 43 (2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 the Council is
not providing details of up to date projections for the ongoing revenue
and capital costs requested as this information is commercially sensitive
and disclosure would be likely to prejudice the commercial interest of the
authority as the new district leisure facility project is currently
ongoing. The public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the
public interest in disclosing the information. Please note that the
Ridgeway leisure centre was used as a working title for the project.

Note: The Leisure and Sports Facilities Study (Part 1) addresses strategic
need in accordance with Sport England methodology and includes the
capacity and condition issues of our leisure centres.  The documents form
part of the evidence base to support the Local Plan 2031 Part 2:
Additional Sites and Detailed Policies.  The Reports were presented by the
Cabinet Member for Planning Policy for information in January 2017 and at
Scrutiny Committee on 27 January 2017.  The Local Plan 2031 Part 2 was
signed off by Cabinet on 22 September 2017.
